  1. Of course dinosaurs existed.
There are two major views about creation that are within orthodox belief without ascribing to naturalistic Darwinian, macro-evolution:

Young Earth Creationism – that the first created things already had age within them – Adam and Eve were adults when created – maybe 16-21 years of age. Trees already had rings, etc. Age would be within the first created things.
Old Earth Creationism – allows for the “day” of Genesis 1 to be longer periods of time.

Even within the Young Earth Creationism (that the earth is 6,000 or 10,000 or maybe 100,000 years old – since there are gaps in the geneologies – all the animals were created before Adam and Eve, so the dinosaurs were created before Adam and Eve, but all on the sixth day – it was a miracle of God.

    • You believe that death somehow only came into existence when Adam sinned right?

      • Romans 5:12 does teach that – human death and large animal death –

But that does not include things like microbes and digestion processes, insects, plants, etc.

      • So dinosaurs must have existed at least during Adam’s lifetime (or later) right?

      • Yes, but probably in areas far from humans. But Job chapters 38-40 seems to indicate some knowledge of some dinosaurs.

      • No.
There are lots of smart people who are Phds in science fields that believe in Young Earth Creationism. You just have not taken the time to research that area very much.

There is a difference between Observational – Laboratory – Experimental Science vs. Historical Science.

If God did great miracles in the past, and we were not there, and we don’t know how God was measuring time way back, then one can do experimental / observational science today with benefits to humanity.

Christianity turns otherwise intelligent people into dummies. Case in point: Kenny.

Well then, these people are idiots. What’s your point?

If a Hindu with a PhD believed that the earth rests on the back of a giant turtle, would his PhD be an excuse for him believing in a ridiculous fairy tale? Does his PhD make the turtle myth a valid scientific theory? Of course not. In the same way, believing in the Biblical account of Creation is silly given what we know from scientific studies. It is beyond reasonable doubt that the earth is way more than 6000 years old. It’s more like 4 billion years old. The universe is much older, something like 14 billion years. These are basic scientific facts, but as I said before, Christianity makes smart people dumb.

This false dichotomy is why Christianity is a false religion. You don’t have to choose between Biblical creationism and evolution only. There are other options, one of which is intelligent design theory. ID is a much stronger scientific theory than Darwinian evolution, and it is only a matter of time that it will become widely accepted, inshaAllah. Darwinian evolution cannot account for the origin of life. ID can, but without the false beliefs of Biblical creationism. ID acknowledges that the universe is billions of years old. In fact, most ID proponents who happen to be Christians try to interpret the Genesis account in a way as to avoid a literal reading (so that the earth does not have to be 6000 years old).

Or more likely, the author was referring to a myth from his time. People believed in fire-breathing dragons, but we know those are myths too. In fact, there is a modern-day myth of a supposed dinosaur-like animal called Mokele Embembe in the African jungle. The theory that some dinosaurs may have survived into modern times is very popular, but it lacks evidence of any kind. Mokele Embembe, Nessie (from Loch Ness), Megalodon…these were all real animals that lived millions of years ago but there is no evidence that some of them survived to modern times. Moreover, even if some of them did survive, the majority of them went extinct millions of years ago, long before humans appeared on the earth.

I cannot believe that Kenny is actually claiming that humans and dinosaurs lived in the same time periods. It’s amazing how insidious the influence of Christianity is on the human brain.

  2. Soft tissue found in Dinosaur fossils:

    • Oh my good Lord…soft tissue on dinosaurs. There is perfectly logical explanation:
      https://www.livescience.com/41537-t-rex-soft-tissue.html

Once again, we see Christianity dumbing people down to the level of infants.

The process of fossilization is complicated. Sometimes, even soft tissue can be well-preserved for millions of years. We even have fossilized dinosaur poop. Some small animals have been perfectly preserved in amber (like mosquitoes). So what?

Let’s look at it from another point of view. If soft tissue on some dinosaur fossils is supposedly evidence of a young earth, then why don’t we have more soft tissue? Why is it so rare? The majority of dinosaur fossils lack any soft tissue. They are only bones.

  3. The Intelligent Design movement is an excellent set of arguments against Naturalistic Darwinian Evolution. I agree with them in their design and moral arguments against Darwinian Naturalistic Evolution.

Micheal Behe (Darwin’s Black Box, irreducible complexity), Philip E. Johnson (Darwin on Trial), Steven Meyer (Darwin’s Doubt and Darwin’s Dilemma) and William Debinski are all very good in this movement.

I am curious about what Islam teaches about how and why death came into existence and does it have any connection to the first sin of Adam and Eve?

How does Islam explain the origin of evil in Satan, Iblis (who was a Jinn who sinned first)?

How does Islam explain all the hominids (the human-like creatures / fossils that apparently lived before Adam and Eve, if the assumption of billions of years explains the existence of so many extinct creatures / fossils)?

Does Islam teach that the flood of Noah was global or local?

ID is also a much better alternative to Biblical young earth creationism. ID acknowledges basis scientific facts like microevolution, the true age of the earth (billions of years), etc.

Um, they are all created? Everything is created by God. Only He is uncreated. Death is not some entity that came out of nowhere. With life in the natural world, there must be death. Evil is also created. Satan committed evil out of his own jealousy and pride.

“How does Islam explain all the hominids (the human-like creatures / fossils that apparently lived before Adam and Eve, if the assumption of billions of years explains the existence of so many extinct creatures / fossils)?”

They were different species of primates. Furthermore, the field of paleo-anthropology has to rely on a very poor fossil record. In most cases, all we have for these previous species are bone fragments which are very poorly preserved.

“Does Islam teach that the flood of Noah was global or local?”

The evidence from the Quran suggests that it was local. It doesn’t make sense to flood the entire world when Noah and his people lived in a particular region.
